Now , lets begin..............

Its definitly warming up in here! The month of July saw us exhibit talented Moko design artist Lance BONZ Hadfield- who is now resident Tattoo Artist at Western Tattoo, if you need some ink done proper.

We also produced the SkyCity Matariki Charity Dinner with a beautiful fashionshow, showcasing all Maori talent!
We have the pleasure of working with an extremly talented crew- Blessings and Thanks to Shone, Rongotai, Ems, Designers Jeanine Clarkin, Norwinz and Haka, our models from AUGUST Talent and Models, Kasina and Taups, Ella and Jay from the extremly gifted NEW NATIVE DANCE troupe (for the edge)and to our Leading Maori Musicians- Nat Rose and Dam Native for tipping the show over the edge. Big ups you to you all. Nga Mihi ki a koutou katoa.

Currently on display in the Art Wall are images taken from Matariki 06. Large Photographic Prints are on display featuring Local Designers used as part of Rauru Productions Maramataka ( Calendar) . Various designers were invited to partake in the event and 200 Maramataka were produced- a gem if you where able to get hold of one! Come in and peep the show.

We also have in at the Boutique Ribbon Earrings which add a splash of colour to any outfit or drab day. look out for the new HOMEBREW tees too- local kats doing great tings!

Maori New Year to you all: Matariki is upon us


And so we celebrate!! Acknowledgements to the beings in the sky , those gone before us and those yet to come. Mauriora!!!

What a great time to be creative , im loving the cycle of talent moving through our space at the moment, come in for the final days of SIMICH TREE from Natasha Simich. A feast of imagery incorporating maori design. Thanks Tash!

The DS Seven Production crew have also been busy wee bunnies getting ready for a fashion , dance and music show extravaganza to be held at Aucklands SkyCity Tower, July 1st. Tickets for the event are available through Ticketek. Dinner and the fashion show will be held in the topmost part of the tower and starts at 5:15pm.

New Artist on the HAKA wall is moko/tattoo artist Lance Hadifield of SMDtattoo's. Be sure to come check him and his works out from Wednesday July 1st. All good.

Queens Birthday Weekend......

Firstly, HAPPY BIRTHDAY  to Aniwaniwa for today!! A Queens birhday fo sho.

New into HAKA this weekend is Ladi 6 aka Ladi Karoline's  bling and tees.  The sterling silver pieces are simply to die for darlings!!  ~We have earrings and necklaces cut in the Ladi 6 logo ( holding a mic) and also the L6 mens tees.

Natasha Simich is our featured Artist this month.  She fuses her love of Maoritanga with her creativeness.  Be sure to come check the opening. Opening to be confirmed.

I also hung 3 new dresses from DS7 as well, limited so get in quick, as they areso dope i might have to get em all fo my ownself.

At the opening eve held May 2nd 09, the talented and well travelled Artist Shigeyuki Kihara left a one off Artwork from her exhibition “Living Photographs” recently housed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (NY), to purchase only through HAKA. Come in, see it, own it.

HAKA music clothing and Art: stocks streetware from Hip Hop King, King Kapisi, Plantation Printing with limited edition designs and prints. Art and designs from DS Seven and Ben Tippett aka Printor. Accessories from label Baby Phat. Woven Kete and design from Shona Tawhiao. A small range of Tino Rangatiratanga and Frocks from designer Jeanine Clarkin.

The boutique is the brain child of Weaver/Artist/Designer Shona Tawhiao, a natural progression and outlet for such a talented designer enabling and ensuring she abides only by her own rules and boundaries- she brings the seeker beautiful and unique products.

It was cold and a night we wont soon forget......

THANKS to all our peeps who made it out to the opening of HAKA.

A huge special thanks to Uncle Mo and Aunty Aroha for the 10kg's of terahiki fish fillets we had at the opening. oh my we gave a heap away and ive since had reports of some amazing fish curries! mmmm just timely for the start of Winter.
