For all our friends and whanau- please help us celebrate, the opening of HAKA, our new boutique shop

HAKA holds art from Artist Daniel Tippett, Tracey Tawhiao and Rongotai Lomas. Clothing and accessories from Overstayer and Plantation Printing. Merchandise from Ladi 6 House of Shem and King Kapisi. Accessories from label Baby Phat. Woven kete and design from Shona Tawhiao. A small range of Tino Rangatiratanga and Frocks from designer Jeanine Clarkin.

The Boutique is a meeting of like minds. come see for yourself. live music and dj's. byo goodness.

Following on, from 8pm Waxed Crew Collective, spinning beats at Verona, K'rd, Auckland.

Woven Range and Designs

DS Sevens’ Head designer has a background in traditional Maori Weaving. Flax or Harakeke is used predominately in Maori weaving.

DS Seven offers a range of products made from flax. Including top hats (see below image), hats, kete and backpacks, wall hangings, light boxes, rourou, lampshades and various types of cloaks to name a few.

The main picture displayed above, of woven bodice , top hat and skirt, portrays a contempoary theme using flax.

This design was submitted and won the 2007 Villa Maria Cult Couture Pemier Award (winning both its section and overall award) at Manukau City, Aotearoa.

The bodices are woven shaped and moduled to fit the female body - they are commercially dyed and featured here with full skirt. They are available for sale and function just as well teamed with jeans for a more casual look.

The theme for these bodices, skirts and potae (hats) is loosely based on the colonial era in New Zealand history.

LICK MY PATU tees



We have a controversal Tee Shirt design available to! If you have seen our animation (check the bottom of our page) you'll be familiar with the song titled " LICK MY PATU" by Dam Native. In conjunction with the boys and their management we have LICK MY PATU tees available to the masses. We have had varied reactions to the tee shirts- some know the song and group and are like cool. Others are interested in what a Patu is, and others think its disrespectful. A wide scope on an interesting tee. The PATU or mere is a hand club, carved out of bone, wood or pounamu (greenstone). The Mere was a treasured Heirloom, passed from Generation to Generation and usually only Chiefs of high standing possessed them. They were lethal in the hands of a competent warrior, and a Chief would rather be killed by his own Mere, than lose his life to anothers in times of capture.
